Pilz Automation Technology is now taking bookings for two new courses that it has developed, both of which are accredited by City & Guilds and available exclusively through Pilz. The first is a one-day course for supervisors and the second is a two-day course for managers. Both cover the application of EU Regulations and standards for machinery safety, and they explain the full extent of candidates' responsibilities under the current legislation.
In organisations where machinery and work equipment are used, supervisors and managers need to be aware of the regulatory issues relating to the safety of the machinery and equipment. The one-day course for supervisors enables candidates to develop their knowledge of the relevant legislation and supporting standards, providing 'best practice' guidance on machinery and work equipment safety. There is a particular focus on the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 98), plus the syllabus includes machinery guarding and the principles of risk assessment.
Managers attending the two-day course are taught a similar syllabus, but with additional material covering risk management techniques and CE marking (with respect to the Machinery, EMC and Low Voltage Directives).
Successful candidates on both courses will be awarded a City & Guilds certificate.
Courses are available throughout 2007, and courses can also be run at customers' premises, provided at least four candidates attend.
