A long-established supplier of precision components to manufacturing industry in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia, R. A. Rodriguez acts as factory representative for a number of the world's leading component designers and manufacturers. Its product programme falls into five divisions – bearings, linear motion, aerospace, conveyor equipment, gears and associated products – and a broad cross-section of these will feature at Southern Manufacturing 2007, where the company will be exhibiting on stand no J31.
R A Rodriguez bearing products include the world-renowned Kaydon Reali-Slim and Ultra-Slim designs. Before the introduction of these products, designers had little choice but to opt for bushings or bearings that, despite being the lightest available, often had undesirable cross-sections and excess weight.
Now firmly established as an industry standard for applications that call for simplicity, compactness and minimum weight, Reali-Slim and Ultra-Slim bearings are now available in a choice of the Imperial and metric sizes, allowing companies to standardise their designs for a multinational market.
In the linear motion field, RA Rodriguez supplies a range of products from components and sub-assemblies through to complete turnkey systems. Thanks to a substantial factory expansion at its sister plant in Germany, RA Rodriguez now has far greater capacity to supply UK customers with its own range of linear motion products machined to order.
Investment in the facility also includes new CNC production machinery and equipment to enable far greater stock holding. It provides a dedicated machining and assembly shop for the RA Rodriguez range that, in addition to shafts, includes linear guideways, ball bushings, bearing housings, shaft supports, shaft blocks, ball screws and acmescrews.
Southern Manufacturing 2007 also provides a focus for the substantial KHK range of gear products that now comprises 133 standard gears and more than 4000 individual items. Several new additions will appear at the show, including an expanded range of racks, three types of bevel gearboxes and a new K-clamp for spur gears.
Details of the entire range are now contained in a new publication, the KHK 3009 product guide and technical data book. The 382-page book has been designed for easy reference and to complement the company's web-based catalogue; it will be freely available on the RA Rodriguez stand.
