Motors and actuators shown at Machine Building 2007Oriental Motor used the Machine Building Drives & Automation show to demonstrate its extensive families of high-performance AC and DC motors, actuators and related drive electronics.

These are typified by the company's AC induction motors that are rated from 60-90W, with reversible and speed-control options, and include an IP67 version with integral gearhead. Additionally, a new RoHS-compliant series was shown. Brushless DC motors, with associated driver packages, offer power ratings from 30-120W, and options include gearhead versions having parallel, hollow or round shafts.

Three display modes denote motor speed (rpm), conveyor speed (m/min) and load factor, and four user-selectable speed control settings are offered. A detachable digital panel is available for remote programming and operation.

A representative range of linear and rotary actuators was also on display, driven by Oriental Motor's proprietary Alpha Step stepper technology.

Linear actuators offer a maximum stroke of 850mm, maximum speed of 800mm/s, and a maximum transportable mass of 60kg horizontal or 30kg vertical. Rotary actuators, available in 60 and 130mm frame sizes, ensure repetitive positioning accurate to within 0.004degrees.
