The Energy Event will take place on 10 and 11 September 2008 at The National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham. It is described as the UK's only annual exhibition and conference to focus solely on energy procurement, management and efficiency, including water efficiency.
Total Gas & Power is the official sponsor for this year's event, with other sponsors including: EDF Energy, Encore International, Llumarlite, Shell Gas Direct and The Utilities Exchange. The event this year will once again be carbon-neutral, with Carbon Clear acting as the event's carbon offsetting partner.
Key to the success of The Energy Event is the seminar and conference programme. Hosting conferences and seminars in 2008 will be ESTA (Energy Services and Technology Association), MEUC (Major Energy Users Council), Envirowise, CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers), BCAS (British Compressed Air Society) and Energy Information Centre (EIC). To view the full programme and sign up for sessions visit www.theenergyevent.co.uk.
Over the two days, ESTA will be running seminars about how companies can save energy and operating costs by applying energy management principles to their buildings and processes, while MEUC will be looking at gas and power buying and how this can be done wisely. EIC will be hosting an seminar about energy purchasing and market fundamentals for major energy users on both days, and experts from EIC will be offering advice on purchasing strategies to manage market exposure via flexible supply contracts.
Envirowise will be considering the important topic of water efficiency, and CIBSE will be holding a useful seminar about the role of building services - such as heating, air-conditioning, lighting, communication systems, security systems, etc - within the energy matrix.
Headlining the conference programme will be the Energy Insight Conference, which is aimed at directors and senior management and will be primarily focusing on energy procurement, as well as touching on energy management. Those interested in attending are advised to register early, as, while there is no cost to attend, places are limited and much sought after.
