Idec has appointed Live Electronics Ltd as a new UK distributor. Live Electronics' primary focus will be towards the range of miniature and sub-miniature control units, including pushbuttons, pilot lights, key and selector switches. In addition to this, the company will also be promoting the Idec range of control relays.
Stephen Schiller, MD of Idec's UK business, states; "The opportunity to join forces with Live Electronics fits well with our product strategy, which focuses on building on the push button business in the UK. Over 50 per cent of Idec's global sales are within the control unit product group, which covers an extensive range of devices with sizes from 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 22, 25 and 30mm and operations including pilot lights, illuminated and non-illuminated pushbuttons, and key and selector switches."
The directors of Live Electronics recognise the need to differentiate themselves from the 'typical distributor and wholesaler'. Claire Childs, MD of Live Electronics, aims to achieve this through delivering a high level of customer service and timely technical support and information. Claire comments: "Good customer service has to extend way past the back office support and will encompass application advice and technical support at the customer.
