Registrations open for 2008 Machine Building showYou can now register for free tickets to the 2008 Machine Building Drives & Automation exhibition, which takes place on 13-14 February at the NEC, Birmingham. Canon Communications, the organiser, says the event will be the 'biggest and best showcase of industrial automation in the UK.'

One of the highlights will be a Robotics Demonstration Area, supported by BARA (British Automation & Robotics Association), with industrial robots operating in a 'live' working environment.

Other major features include drives, motion control system, and compressed air technology, with dozens of industry-leading suppliers displaying the latest in industrial automation.

Machine Building Drives & Automation also benefits from being co-located alongside complementary events with a total of over 400 exhibitors. UK designers, engineers, specifiers and buyers therefore have an excellent opportunity to see everything they need, all in one place and at one time.

The five co-located manufacturing-focused events and education programmes are as follows:

  • MTEC Sensors, Measurement & Instrumentation exhibition
  • MEDTEC UK (formerly Medical Device Technology) – raw materials, manufacturing technology and outsourcing for the UK's medical device manufacturing industry
  • 3C - Contamination Control & Cleanroom Products
  • IPOT - Image Processing and Optical Technology
  • Practical Vacuum & Semiconductor processing

As well as the exhibits, Machine Building Drives & Automation offers a wealth of free education programmes from some of the biggest names in industry. These will include an Industrial Networks for Automation programme discussing the selection, design and use of AS-Interface products and networks – including functional safety systems - and an overview and practical demonstration of Profibus and Profinet systems, from configuration to data exchange.
