The amended Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 98) came into force 10 years ago. Laidler Associates, one of the UK's leading machinery safety consultancies, was formed 10 years ago too. To celebrate this special anniversary, Laidler will be running with the theme of '10' during 2008, with 10 free safety workshops across the country and 10 fact sheets detailing the key elements of machinery safety. The first four workshop dates are: Wycombe 29 April 2008, Coventry 30 April 2008, Haydock 15 July 2008 and Haydock 25 November 2008. Further dates will be announced shortly. Ten years will also be the theme of this year’s Machinery Safety conference on 16 September 2008. Speakers will be looking at how machinery safety has changed over the last 10 years and where they see it going in the future.
