The Gauge and Tool Makers Association (GTMA) is supporting Instrumentation North 2008, which takes place at Elland Road Stadium, Leeds, on 9 and 10 April 2008. This event is part of Trident Exhibitions' Instrumentation series of regional shows for sensors, test, measurement, data acquisition and control instrumentation.

Current exhibitors include BEKA Associates, Bruel & Kjaer UK, Coulton Instruments, Grant Instruments, Ixthus Instrumentation, PR Electronics and Sensors Knowledge Transfer Network. A full exhibitor list and current floorplan can be viewed at www.instrumentation.co.uk.

Instrumentation North also benefits from free workshops on both days of the event, covering the following topics:

Wednesday 9 April â€" Sensor & Instrumentation Awareness Seminars:
  • Humidity & Temperature Measurement
  • Wireless Sensors & Systems
  • A Guide To Sensor Selection
  • Test & Calibration

These seminars will be delivered by industry experts including Jon Murthy, Mike Scott and Robert Bogue.

Thursday 10 April â€" SIKTN

Sensor & Instrumentation Knowledge Transfer Networks (SIKTN) will be running a 'show and tell' session for academic groups to describe the sensors and instruments they are developing and will be structured in the following themes:

12:00-12:20 SIKTN

12:20-12:40 Wireless sensor networks or data fusion

12:40-13:00 Sensors in hostile environments

13:00-13:20 Sensors and Instrumentation MSc, Manchester

13:20-13:40 On-line process control

13:40-14:00 Test and measurement

Speakers for these sessions will come from Universities including those in Leeds, Newcastle, Bradford, Hull and York.

Elland Road Stadium has free parking and first-class links with local and major roads.

Instrumentation North is part of a series of events that include Instrumentation Scotland & Offshore Systems, Aberdeen, 3 and 4 September 2008, that will also enjoy the support of the GTMA, and Instrumentation South, taking place at the Madejski Stadium, Reading, on 7 and 8 October 2009.

With working time at a premium and a growing inclination towards more specialised regional exhibitions, these events offer visitors an excellent opportunity to see a wide range of companies and products all under one roof and on their doorstep.
