Fastening is one of the few areas in which UK manufacturing companies can make immediate cost savings, and the Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition claims to offer the widest choice of these cost-saving opportunities to be found anywhere in one place at one time.

For example, by introducing self-pierce riveting, OEMs and sheet metal engineers can save significant time - by avoiding the need to drill or punch holes to begin with – and some of the exhibitors at the show can provide self-pierce fasteners that can penetrate thicker materials than you might expect!

Other exhibitors offer instant cost-saving ideas using plastic fasteners, adhesives, adhesive tapes and a huge number of other fastener and fastening types and methods. These systems, from threaded inserts and plastic rivets to anti-vibration or special security fasteners, are complemented by the very latest approaches to assembly, such as torque monitoring or adhesive dispensing. Many of these techniques can be introduced without the need for additional production or design engineering changes either up or downstream in the manufacturing processes.

All can be seen at the Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition, which takes place at the RAF Museum Cosford on 30 April 2008 between 10:00 and 15:00. Engineers and manufacturing professionals who pre-register in advance can enjoy the advantage of a complimentary luncheon courtesy of the organisers, as well as complimentary tea and coffee during their stay at the show.

Parking is free and right outside the exhibition; exhibition entry is free; and access to the outstanding RAF Museum (including the all-new and award-winning Cold War Hangar) is also free.
