Stemmer Imaging is a gold sponsor of this year’s British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC), which is being held at the University of Surrey at Guildford, UK, 3–7 September 2012. The BMVC is organised by the British Machine Vision Association and is one of the major international conferences on computer vision and related areas.
Mark Williamson, Director – Corporate Market Development at STEMMER IMAGING, says: “Stemmer Imaging is delighted to provide some financial support to this important event. As Europe’s leading supplier of commercial vision technology and services, we are acutely aware of the part that academic research has to play in producing next generation algorithms for future vision products, as well as the role current technology has to play in today’s research programmes.
“On Wednesday 5th September we will have an exhibition stand available for delegates to see the latest technology available for machine vision research. We are also providing each delegate at the conference with a voucher for 20 per cent discount on vision technology for research use.”
BMVC is a high-quality single-track conference, comprising oral presentations and poster sessions. This will be supplemented by live demonstrations showing the effectiveness of computer vision methods and the showing throughout the conference of precompiled videos illustrating the results of computer vision-related research. In addition, the BMVC Student Workshop will take place on Friday 7th September 2012, the day after the main conference. This gives students in computer vision an opportunity to network and start collaborations at an early stage in their research career. The workshop will also be single track containing both oral and poster presentations.
