Autodesk has completed the acquisition of iLogic software and related technology from Canada-based Logimetrix.

Autodesk announced its intent to acquire the iLogic desktop design automation technology on 2 December 2008. Terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition supports Autodesk's commitment to providing a comprehensive Digital Prototyping product to manufacturers of all sizes, giving them the ability to design, visualise and simulate their products before they are built, reducing the reliance on constructing multiple physical prototypes. The addition of the iLogic technology will strengthen the Autodesk product for Digital Prototyping by bringing user-friendly tools for rules-based design and automation to mainstream manufacturers.
