According to ETES, the organisers, registrations and stand sales for the 2011 Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show (FIVE, Farnborough, 16/17 February 2011) continue at a blistering pace. Numbers of both exhibitors and visitors look set to break records.
Show director Phil Valentine states: "Having exceeded the final number of exhibitors for the 2010 show by mid-September, we were well aware that 2011 would be the biggest Southern Manufacturing ever staged. However, demand for exhibition space has continued to be strong and, as a result, we are now comfortably beyond the 600 exhibitor level for the first time.
"These figures clearly demonstrate that Southern Manufacturing & Electronics is unquestionably a show of national significance and an important event for anyone involved in engineering and industry."
Co-location with Southern Electronics means that in one visit it is possible to see suppliers from virtually every aspect of manufacturing industry, from packaging supplies to the latest machine tools. Valentine says: "The appeal of the show is very much that visitors can address a broad range of needs in a single visit. There is not another show that allows you to source such a wide variety of components, services and production equipment in one venue. The diversity of products and activities represented make it a very useful event for machine builders, in particular."
The list of exhibitors is certainly impressive, and now includes companies from a lot further afield than just the South of the UK. German motor manufacturer Dunkermoteren will be exhibiting for the first time, alongside other major players such as igus, LG Motion, Renishaw, Monitran, Fanuc, EAO, ETA and many, many more. The official show preview magazine, soon to be available online at www.industrysouth.co.uk, runs to an unprecedented 12 pages, yet it only scratches the surface of what will be on show.
Free technical seminars
Southern Manufacturing show is also known for the quality of its free technical seminar programme, and 2011 will be no exception. Again, diversity of content means that there is something of interest for everyone. The 2011 programme includes presentations by the EEF, the GTMA, the SMART Group and the Manufacturing Advisory Service among many others, covering everything from the latest advances in additive manufacturing to best practice in business management. Full details and pre-booking – which is strongly advised – is available online at www.industrysouth.co.uk.
Entry to Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2011 and participation in the technical seminars is completely free to business visitors.
