Mouser Electronics has signed an exclusive global distribution partnership with Azoteq, a world leader in proximity and touch-sensing products designed to supplant costlier sensor, switch, slider, scroll wheel and touch interface design options in industrial, medical and consumer applications.

Design engineers and buyers across the globe will now have access to Azoteq's ProxSense proximity and touch sensor controllers. The ProxSense family of capacitive sensors consists of what is claimed to be the most sensitive and robust proximity and touch controllers available for use in touch keys, non-ITO LCD, single-layer ITO, 3D touch screens, and metal touch panel markets.

Mike Scott, Mouser Vice President of Semiconductors, states: "We are excited to be representing Azoteq globally. Engineers will appreciate the auto-tuning and drift-compensation features of the products that can enable greater success with new designs. As designs are more frequently incorporating the sense of touch, this new agreement allows Mouser to provide Azoteq's innovative solutions to our vast design engineer and buyer customer base."

Kobus Marneweck, Vice President of Marketing at Azoteq, adds: "A key to this agreement is Mouser's dedicated focus on the design chain and their proven demand creation capabilities. Their local branch offices worldwide, being committed to providing engineers with technical support and rapid new product introductions, made it an easy business decision. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership."
