Free white paper: Enhancing performance with pressure sensorsGems Sensors & Controls has published a free white paper, Enhancing performance with pressure sensors, which is available to download from the company's White Paper Library (no registration necessary).

The new white paper explains how the latest-generation pressure sensors offer higher accuracy through the use of advanced strain gauge technologies (sputtered thin film and chemical vapour deposition) and ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) technology. As well as offering improved accuracy, such press sensors are also more robust and better at withstanding aggressive operating conditions such as extremes of temperature, mechanical shock and vibration. And ASICs enable individual sensors to be easily customised to meet the requirements of each application.

Despite the greater performance of these sensors, manufacturers today are able to sell products for around £30 that previously would have cost £300. This combination of high performance and low cost means that machine or process instrumentation can be enhanced so that better control is achieved - leading to higher productivity, improved quality and better profitability.
