CE marked machine guards

One of the highlights on Procter's stand will be the company's CE marked machine guards. Procter offers a comprehensive service to survey, design, manufacture and install machine guards, or ready-to-fit guards can be manufactured and supplied to the customer’s drawings and specifications. Examples of Procter’s machine tool enclosure guards can be seen on several exhibitors’ stands at MACH, including Heller Machine Tools Ltd.

Other types of bespoke guarding that visitors can see and discuss on the Procter stand include mesh guards, aluminium-framed guards and clear polycarbonate guards.

New modular aluminium guarding system

Procter Machine Guarding will be exhibiting its new modular machine guarding system that is constructed from aluminium profiles and various infill panel materials. Included in the new system is a high-speed roller rise-and-fall guard that has been designed for applications where quick access is required and light guards do not provide the required physical protection. The space-saving roller shutter doors are very robust, yet they can be opened and closed quickly to help minimise cycle times and access times. Typical applications would be robot cells.

Visitors to Procter's stand can also take a close look at the cost-effective Satech modular perimeter guarding system. This comprehensive steel-framed system is offered in a range of strengths and specifications so that customers only have to pay for what they need. Furthermore, in the event that standard modular components are unsuitable for any part of a guarding project, Procter Machine Guarding can design, manufacture and install bespoke elements that blend in with the standard Satech components and avoid having to compromise on the guarding layout.

Machine shop guards

Another product range on show will be the Nelsa standard machine shop guards for lathes, milling machines, drills and grinders.

Machine guarding specialists will be available throughout the five days of the MACH show to discuss bespoke guarding with engineers who are designing new machines or upgrading existing machines. All types of machinery can be catered for, ranging from CNC machining centres and machine tools, through to special-purpose machines, robot cells, automated assembly cells, palletisers and conveyors. Requirements for modular perimeter guarding or standard machine shop guards can also be discussed in detail. Visitors to MACH can request a free Machine Guarding Compliance Survey in which a machinery safety expert from Procter will undertake a site visit, assess machine safeguards and identify any that fall short of current requirements.

Jeremy Procter, the Managing Director of Procter Machine Guarding, comments: "As the UK's leading machinery guarding specialist, we are pleased to be exhibiting at MACH once again and are looking forward to meeting engineers and safety officers to discuss how we can save them time and money, whatever their requirements for high-quality machine guarding."

Procter Machine Guarding will be on stand number 5798 at MACH 2014, which takes place at the NEC, Birmingham from 7-11 April 2014.
