Integrated Industry is the Harting Technology Group’s key topic at the Hannover Fair (Hall 11, Stand C 13) from the 13th to 17th April 2015. The Harting display includes a live demonstration of a production line demonstrating systems for Integrated Industry.
With its presence at Hannover, the company is positioning itself as a trailblazer for technological change. Dr Volker Franke, Managing Director, Harting Applied Technologies says: “Integrated Industry will change almost all industrial companies in the coming years, and we offer customers tailor-made solutions and accompany them along the way.”
The Harting production line demonstration presents the topic of Integrated Industry holistically and combines elements such as the FlexiMon flexible assembly system, a research project conducted within the framework of the ‘it’s OWL’ (Intelligent Technical Systems Ostwestfalenlippe – an alliance of 174 businesses) cluster, with system integration offerings based on SAP enterprise software. Claus Hilger, Managing Director, Harting IT Services, comments: “With this production line we have also included aspects of the Smart Factory, the internet of things and services, and the Industrial Internet.”
A ‘Plug & Produce’ modularisation concept based on Harting’s Han-Modular interconnection standard is also implemented in the demonstrator. The production unit with three production cells is linked into the fabrication environment via a smart infrastructure system.
The process of change being accelerated by Integrated Industry will significantly impact virtually all manufacturing enterprises – whether small businesses, mid-size companies or large corporations, according to Philip Harting, Senior Vice President, Connectivity & Networks, and General Partner at Harting, speaking at a presentation for specialist press journalists. He comments: “We are pioneers of technological change. We support our customers and offer them customised solutions for Integrated Industry.”
Harting develops and markets products for all levels within Integrated Industry. The business focus, however, remains innovative hardware, made system-compatible in line with customer requirements.
Dr Frank Brode, Management Board Member for New Technologies, adds: “We understand the internet of things and services in terms of the digitisation of our products, their networking and the generation of new services based on these concepts. Harting offers comprehensive simulation services designed to cut development times, and this lets us really offer our customers added value.” Harting provides solutions for Integrated Industry from a single source – from SAP all the way down to the machine.”
