Henkel provides a comprehensive source of products and advice for every bonding requirement, the theme of the stand at this year’s Northern Manufacturing show is: LOCTITE – success secured. Henkel’s range of adhesives incorporate five core technologies – epoxies, acrylics, polyurethanes, silane-modified polymers and silicones. It also provides dispensing equipment from hand-held devices to fully automated systems, to make product application precise, economical and clean.
Continuous development of both its adhesive technologies and methods of application have resulted in several new additions. The highly flexible instant adhesive LOCTITE 4902 offers elongation of up to 155 per cent and provides a high-strength bond in seconds. It can be reliably used on plastics, rubber, metals and other substrates and is ISO 10993 biocompatible making it suitable for bonding disposable medical devices.
Another recent development is LOCTITE 4090 – an epoxy cyanoacrylate hybrid. This product combines the handling speed of a cyanoacrylate adhesive with the toughness and durability of an epoxy adhesive.
Henkel’s award-winning TECHNOMELT range of low-pressure moulding, hotmelt adhesives has also been expanded. New advanced formulations are now available that are UV-stabilised, ultra-clear and chemical resistant. They address the most demanding encapsulation requirements including all types of sensors, automotive products, new lighting designs and medical devices.
Visitors to the show will also see the latest dispensing equipment development too. Henkel’s patented Jet Valve system enables bubble-free dispensing at up to 300 drops per second; droplets can be as small as 0.3mm depending on the adhesive used. This new diaphragm technology is easy to integrate thanks to its compact design and requires little maintenance.
