The Spring 2016 issue of the UK Industrial Vision Association’s ‘Vision in Action’ newsletter has been published and is available for download from the UKIVA website. This 32-page issue contains a special feature on ‘making measurements with machine vision’.
Making measurements was one of the first, and continues to be one of the most important, applications for industrial vision. The main feature looks at the types of measurements that can be made including 2D and 3D measurements and the factors that influence measurement accuracy and reliability. Special consideration is given to factors such as calibration as well as topics such as OCR, barcode and matrix code reading and verification and 2D and 3D pattern matching.
Ian Alderton, UKIVA Chairman, comments: “The new issue also features 13 real-life application stories, ranging from the inspection of laser drilled holes to a vision-based scoring system at a social darts venue in London, as well as the usual mix of Association News, Members’ News and upcoming events. The Association hopes that readers will find it interesting and informative”.
