The lavishly equipped Danfoss Drives Demonstration Truck will soon be touring locations in England and Ireland, giving drives users and specifiers a valuable and convenient opportunity to find out about developments in variable speed drives technology and to discuss their individual requirements with experienced Danfoss engineers.
Visitors to the truck will not only have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a wide range of application-oriented VLT and VACON products, but will also be able to enjoy the Danfoss Virtual Reality World of Drives. And, as an added incentive to visit the truck, those who do so can enter a competition to win prizes that include a factory visit, free training and an iPad.
On Monday 27 June, the truck will be at The Crystal, Royal Victoria Docks, London E16 1GB, and will be open to visitors from 10 am until 4 pm. A barbeque lunch and refreshments will be available. Visitors will also be offered a guided tour of The Crystal “Future of Cities” exhibition and a trip on the spectacular Emirates Cable Car – all courtesy of Danfoss.
Other dates and venues for the truck tour are Tuesday, 28 June – Tranmere Rovers Football Club, Birkenhead CH42 9PH; Thursday, 30 June – Shandon Park Golf Club, Belfast BT5 6NY; Friday, 1 July – ARC Bar and Restaurant, Dublin 22. Lunch and refreshments will be provided at all of the venues, and the truck will be open to visitors between 10 am and 4 pm.
Thomas Thorewik, Vice President of Sales, Northern Europe and Russia, says: “We’ve devised this truck tour to make it as convenient as possible for end users, vendors, contractors and consultants to discover the features and benefits of the extended portfolio of VLT and VACON products.
“It’s also an ideal setting for us to introduce and explain our new technologies and innovations, and even to provide training. We hope as many people as possible will take advantage of these opportunities.”
Products highlighted on the truck include the new VLT Midi Drive FC 280, which delivers flexible and efficient motor control for a wide variety of applications in the food and beverage, materials handling and processing industries. Also highlighted is the VLT AQUA Drive FC 202, which provides excellent performance for AC-motor-driven water and wastewater applications. Visitors to the truck will also hear more about the enhancements to the VACON 100 family: drives in this family are now available with ratings up to 800kW, and a new enclosed version has just been introduced.
Complementing the real products on the truck is the Danfoss Virtual Reality World of Drives. Visitors simply put on their goggles to enter a virtual reality tour of four different industry segments – marine, water and wastewater, HVAC, and food and beverage. The real-life footage has been shot with a 360 degree video drone and is combined with animated footage that includes drives shown in the distinctive Danfoss X-ray image style.
