This month's Machine Building, Drives and Automation show promises to be excellent, with a broad spectrum of the leading automation suppliers attending, and plenty of new products being shown for the first time. Indeed, many of the items in this month's newsletter will be featured on exhibitors' stands at the Machine Building show or Mtec, the sensors event in the adjoining hall at the NEC.

Our Guide to the New Machinery Directive has proved very popular, so we are now developing our plans to produce more guides. If there are any topics that you would like to see covered, please get in touch.

Lastly, a reminder that our 2008 Media Guide is now available and to download from here.

XPS-MF40 safety PLC uses SafeEthernet fieldbus protocol
Suitable for high-integrity applications, this unit uses SafeEthernet for safety data and Modbus TCP-IP, Modbus or Profibus for diagnostic data. More?

Compact force transducers use piezoelectric technology
HBM's new transducers are ultra-compact, measure with virtually no displacement and are excellent for fast, highly dynamic applications. More?
