As a machine builder or system integrator, are you familiar with all the Directives and Regulations relating to pressure systems? Usually the emphasis is on designing machines to achieve the required performance and designing safety-related control systems to comply with the necessary Regulations. But the pressurised systems on those machines often receive little attention in terms of regulatory compliance.
If your machines incorporate pressurised systems of any sort, two recent additions to the MachineBuilding.net website will be of interest. The first is an announcement about a new section on the HSE website that provides a single point of access to the official advice and guidance relating to pressure systems.
The second is an article commissioned from Paul Laidler of Laidler Associates that explains what machine builders should know about the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (see the 'Useful Resource' item further down this newsletter).
