Vipa is launching the new Speed 7-CPUs 313SC and 314SC, which completes the company's portfolio of high-speed automation devices for smaller-scale applications.
The CPU is programmable with Step 7 from Siemens and is adjustable to the command fund of the S7-300 or S7-400. The unit is designed for use with time-critical applications and, at the same time, fulfils the increasing need for increased memory capacity. Indeed, the memory can subsequently be increased to meet the needs of the plant and application at any time, without having to change the existing hardware. To do this, only a memory configuration card (MCC) needs to be plugged into the card slot to create more memory, which means customers only have to stock one model of CPU to meet all of their application requirements.
With its Ethernet interface, integrated master for Profibus-DP and an MP2I connection, the CPU supports all of these interfaces in one system.
The 313/314SC CPUs are claimed to be the fastest of their class; processing takes place up to 30 times faster than with existing compact control systems.
The ultra-fast digital inputs and outputs of the CPU 314SC enable counters to operate at frequencies of up to 200kHz.
The interrupt behaviour is characterised by an extremely high performance and is also deterministic.
