Datapaq has carried out a comprehensive review of its thermocouples, data loggers and analysis software to ensure they meet the new requirements in revision D of the AMS 2750 specification.

In fact the company's thermocouples and loggers already exceed the accuracy requirements, but changes to the calibration have been necessary and all equipment is now supplied with a certificate that satisfies the requirements of AMS 2750D.

Datapaq has updated its Furnace Insight Survey analysis software to comply with the new revision, and has also included some additional innovative features for ease of use:

  • Supervision of the Temperature Uniformity Survey (TUS) by alerting the user when an overshoot occurs, or when stabilisation at the TUS temperature has been achieved
  • Incorporates all thermocouple and logger correction factors in the data, then calculates all required results such as maximum and minimum temperatures at each survey level
  • Password protection for extra security
  • Automatically configure the TUS report to include all the requirements of AMS 2750D

Additional software features now include:

  • Automatically calculates furnace class from raw survey data
  • Instant thermocouple map where the hottest and coldest spots are visually displayed, both on-screen and in the printed report
  • Quickly and easily inputs correction factors using the TUS Wizard

Many heat treatment plants, large and small, are already using Datapaq systems to monitor surveys from within the furnace saving unnecessary downtime and reducing costs.
