MDriveAC Plus are innovative products, from integrated motion technology leader IMS, that incorporate patented current control to deliver exceptional performance and smoothness in extremely compact, cost-effective packages that combine a highly integrated microstepping driver/motion controller with NEMA 34 or 42 brushless high torque motors.
Connection to the product's robust aluminium housing is accomplished with standard industrial circular connectors and cordsets, which are readily available and easy to attach and remove as needed. IMS offers several accessory cables and cordsets to speed prototyping, including:
- Communications Converter Cable: an in-line RS-422 converter for parameter set-up, connects MDrive's Communications five-pin M12 to a PC's USB port.
- Prototype Development Cordset: PVC jacketed cable with foil shield and unconnected drain wire connects to MDrive's I/O 19-pin M23 with flying leads on opposite end.
- Power Interface Cordset: PVC jacketed cable with IP68, NEMA 6P rating connects to MDrive's Power three-pin Euro AC with flying leads on opposite end.
The groundbreaking technology of the MDriveAC Plus provides high positioning accuracy, stability at low speeds, no dithering at zero speed, high starting torque and built-in regeneration circuitry. The product requires no tuning, allows for greater inertia mismatch, and has numerous options including: input voltage of 120 or 240V AC, up to three motor lengths, internal or remote encoder, control knob for manual positioning and integrated planetary gearbox.
