The L60Plus welder from Labfacility is a compact, simple-to-use instrument that is designed for thermocouple and fine wire welding. It is primarily targeted at sensor manufacturers for the production of commercial-grade thermocouple junctions; it is also suitable for producing large numbers of exposed junction thermocouples for test and development laboratories. The L60Plus can be used for transducer and RTD extension lead attachment and also for use in jewellery production and repair; it also makes for convenient attachment of wires to metal surfaces.
Use of the welder does not require special skills and most operatives will be capable of producing quality work with little practice. The instrument is supplied with a full range of user accessories including a foot switch for convenient operation.
Suitable for use with wires of up to 1.1mm diameter, the instrument is equipped with an argon gas shield facility. Satisfactory thermocouple junctions are produced without the need for argon; where argon is available, a momentary purge is automatically triggered immediately prior to the weld discharge to give the optimum weld integrity. The output energy can be varied up to 60J.
