ESAB is introducing the Origo Mig 400t and 500t thyristor-controlled power sources for heavy-duty MIG/MAG welding. Powerful and versatile, the Origo Mig 400t delivers 400A/34V at a 45 per cent duty cycle and the Origo Mig 500t delivers 500A/39V at a 60 per cent duty cycle. Both may be used with interconnection cables up to 35m long.
Different mounting options enable the Origo Feed 304 or Origo Feed 484 wire feeders to be mounted on the power sources or separately, depending on the application requirements. Typical applications will be found in mobile machinery, pipe workshops, shipyards, foundries and civil construction.
A combination of proven technologies, a rugged galvanised casing and special software deliver high reliability, even in tough industrial environments. To make the machines easy to move, ESAB has equipped them with large wheels, sturdy lifting eyes and an undercarriage that is designed for lifting with a fork lift truck.
The Origo Mig 400t and 500t machines can be used with various three-phase electricity supplies, and the setting range is from 50A/16.5V to 400A/34V for the 400t model and from 50A/16.5V to 500A/39V for the 500t model.
ESAB's TrueArcVoltage system ensures that the correct arc voltage is maintained regardless of the length of the cables used, and three inductance outlets make it easy for operators to optimise the settings for different applications. As a result of these features and the wide setting ranges, the power sources deliver outstanding welding characteristics.
For applications where water cooling is required, the patented ELP (ESAB LogicPump) automatically starts the integral water pump when a water cooled gun is connected to the wire feeder. This eliminates the risk of the gun overheating, thereby avoiding the need for costly repairs.
If required, the machines can be used in conjunction with ESAB's MiggyTrac and Railtrac kits for simple mechanisation. Other accessories for the Origo Mig 400t and 500t include an air filter, cable holder kit and interconnection cables ranging in length from 1.7-35m.
