Ellison Sensors International is introducing the GS4200-USB Digital Pressure Transducer, which the company says is the first of its type to be manufactured in the UK.
The GS4200-USB digital pressure transducer uses the same superior silicon-on-sapphire (SOS) sensor technology that has long been incorporated into ESI sensors for high-accuracy pressure transducers used in demanding applications. ESI says the unique feature of the GS4200-USB is its ability to measure, analyse and record pressure directly on a computer without the need for costly I/O interface boards. The transducer is powered by the computer's USB port, and data is presented on the PC via the ESI-USB configurable software supplied with the transducer. It has instant connection with auto-detection, and will configure automatically with a desktop or laptop PC via USB protocol.
For instant, dynamic pressure measurements direct to a PC, this unit is described as an indispensable, powerful tool for pressure test and analysis when swift installation and fast data recovery are vital. The fast sample rate enables dynamic pressures to be measured with up to 21 bit resolution. For real-time analysis, data transfer to the PC is achieved without loss of accuracy or bandwidth. Once collated, the information can then be presented in tables or graphical form, with a choice of engineering units and scales.
The GS4200-USB Digital Pressure Transducer is compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0, and is fully supported by ESI-USB Windows interface software available for Windows 98, 98 SE, 2000, ME, XP and Vista. Its precision measurement accuracy is greater than 1 in 10,000, and pressure ranges are available from 500mbar to 2000bar.
ESI believes this is the quickest and simplest interface connection available for pressure measurement, and the company says it is the only manufacturer of this product in the UK.
