Dialog’s SoCs for secure low-power Bluetooth 5 applicationsMouser Electronics is now stocking the SmartBond DA14682 and DA14683 Bluetooth 5 system-on-chips (SoCs) from Dialog Semiconductor. Part of the highly integrated SmartBond family of power-efficient Bluetooth low energy products, the new SoCs deliver low power consumption and enhanced security features with excellent performance.

The Dialog SmartBond DA14582 and DA14583 Bluetooth 5 SoCs offer designers all the benefits of the DA14586 SoC, but with even greater flexibility to create more advanced applications from the smallest footprints and power budgets. In addition to Bluetooth 5 support, the two devices offer extensive memory capacity and differ only in memory configuration. The DA14683 supports unlimited external flash for design flexibility, while the DA14682 includes 8 Mbits of onboard flash, making it suitable for applications with tight space constraints. The SoCs also feature a dedicated state-of-the-art hardware crypto engine that delivers fast and low-power processing of cryptographic algorithms, while on-chip key storage and manipulation delivers a balance between security and affordability.

Dialog’s DA14682 and DA14683 SoCs are suitable for adding Bluetooth low energy mesh networking to asset trackers, cloud-connected products, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, wearables, human-machine interface (HMI) devices, and smart home nodes. The devices are supported by DA14683 development kits and Dialog’s SmartSnippets software to help engineers optimise software for power consumption.
