Professional jack sockets with choice of switching contactsCliff Electronics is offers manufacturers of professional audio and broadcast equipment their industry standard ¼” S1VS series of compact vertical PCB mounting jack sockets with a range of switching contacts.

The high quality ¼″ (6.35mm) jack sockets feature a threaded metal “nose” for rugged through-panel mounting, secure connection of locking plugs and grounding to system chassis, have a durable nylon body for superior performance and are supplied with mounting hardware unassembled.

Four versions of these tip-ring-sleeve (TRS) jack sockets are available offering different switching options: stereo models FM6700 with normally closed contacts for tip and ring, FM6701 with closed contact at tip only, FM7603 with no switching and mono version FM6704 with a normally closed contact at the tip. Solder connection or PCB mounting is facilitated by a multi-purpose tag which simplifies product design and manufacturing inventory.

Key specifications of the Cliff S1VS series of jack sockets include minimum life expectancy of 10,000+operations, operating temperature from –10degC to +70degC, maximum contact current 5A and minimum withstand voltage of 1000V DC minimum. The compact vertical mounting design has a 24mm stand-off to provide high packing density and the body is designed for auto-insertion.

Cliff manufactures a wide range of standard and FeedThrough connectors which may be mounted in their panels. These include: RJ45, HDMI, BNC and USB3.0 compliant single and dual USB versions in addition to the existing range which provides Analogue, Digital and Optical Feed-Through connectivity in formats including Firewire, HDMI A-A and 50 ohm BNC versions, USB2 A-to-B and B-to-A “gender change” sockets high speed USB Type – C, USB3 to USB3 in all gender changing configurations - A-A, A-B and B-A. Also available are all popular data and Ethernet connectors including USB 2.0 and 3.0, LC and SC Fibre (Duplex & Simplex), UTP and FTP RJ45s in both Cat6 and Cat5e (shielded and unshielded), Toslink, RCA Phono and HDMI and blanking plates.

Cliff also supplies 19” Rack Panels ready to hold 16 connectors which fit in the standard 24mm-diameter XLR panel cut-out or panels factory pre-assembled to meet customer’s own requirements. They are typically used as patch panels and many other connectivity requirements. Cliff’s pre-assembled connector rack panels, whether audio, fibre-optic, power or USB offer systems integrators fast and convenient system assembly.

Pre-assembled rack panels available from Cliff feature 16 of their FeedThrough connectors each and available in the following configurations: 50Ω, 75Ω and 75Ω gold insulated BNC, CAT6 RJ45 and CAT6A, HDMI A to HDMI A, USB2 A to USB2 B and USB2 B to USB2 A. Fibre Optic connector types ST / BFOC, LC duplex SM and LC duplex MM. Two other non-Feedthrough versions are mounted with XLR 3DCM and XLR 3DCF connectors.
