Following 24 months of intensive development, Parvalux is launching a new range of DC brushless motors and controllers aimed at the OEM machine and commercial product market. A new catalogue is also being published that provides a snapshot of the huge range of potential options available, from standalone motors through to complete motor/controller/gearbox packages.

The most outstanding feature is said to be the level of build quality combined with an exceptional price level. Offered with a standard two-year warranty, the products will be available for series delivery volumes from late October 2007. With stock already in place to satisfy prototype orders, Parvalux anticipate significant growth through 2008.

Justin Levine, Parvalux managing director, explains why the company is introducing DC brushless motors to its range: "For sure, the market for conventional DC brushed motors is huge, as it is for conventional AC (induction) motors; however, the fastest growing segment is without a doubt DC brushless. It seems that the convenience of having no brushes to wear out combined with good speed holding is attractive to designers - for example, a 0.18kW AC motor with a variable speed drive is the staple diet of many builders of simple machines, powering, say, a conveyor on a checkweigher. For about 50 per cent of the price, you get a DC brushless offer that is almost 25 per cent smaller and offers a more dynamic performance. Of course, each application needs to be selected according to its specific design merits. However, I can understand why DC brushless is taking off so fast."

Over the next six months Parvalux will add an 86mm frame DC brushless motor as well as a range of planetary gearheads to match all motors. In addition, a full range of integrated DC brushless motors will quickly follow to complete the range.

The catalogue is now available for download from the Parvalux website in PDF format. Visit www.parvalux.co.uk/downloads/ to obtain your copy.
