3D Systems Corporation is launching its 3DPro Software Suite that includes 3DView, 3DManage and 3DPrint. This state-of-the-art suite of software interface and productivity tools is available for use on 3D Systems' Viper Pro SLA systems.
3DPro is an intuitive suite of software with a 3D print user interface much like common 2D print user interfaces; it is said to provide numerous productivity and cost-saving benefits.
Viper Pro SLA systems are the first systems to feature this new software package. However, 3D Systems plans to make 3DView, 3DManage and 3DPrint its new standard tool, with future releases available for its other products, including legacy SLA systems, Sinterstation Pro SLS systems and InVision 3D modellers.
The company believes that the creation of a new 'industry standard' software interface will make it easier to manage and operate service bureaus, manufacturing centres, print centres and offices that use multiple products and systems.
Key features of the new software are:
- Integrated job submission, tracking and reporting
- Integrated CAD viewing and verification
- Integrated .stl file manipulation tools
- Drag-and-drop part placement and build preparation
- Configurable automated file processing
These features significantly simplify the build set-up process, reduce build set-up time, reduce man-hours and increase total system throughput and system utilisation.
In addition, the new software features a synchronised database that tracks system and build data for an entire operation. Data and reports can be generated automatically, supporting scheduling and forecasting activities, operations management and statistical process control (SPC) programs.
Abe Reichental, 3D Systems' president and chief executive officer, says: "We are pleased to deliver such a significant productivity tool to our customers. The creation of a common and standard user interface across product lines, combined with sophisticated scheduling, tracking and reporting capabilities, are new to our industry and directly support our manufacturing and 3D modelling growth initiatives."
