According to Scorpion Vision, Gigabit Ethernet will change the way cameras are used in machine vision systems and open up new application areas.
Scorpion Vision Software with Gigabit Ethernet cameras is claimed to be the best platform to take advantage of this industry shift based on Ethernet connectivity. The Scorpion Vision Server can run tens of vision sensor tasks or up to four demanding machine vision applications on one Industrial Vision Server. The hardware platform for a Scorpion Vision Server is GigE cameras and Quad Core Processors, with Hot Swap Redundant Disk and Industrial Ethernet Technology.
A Scorpion Vision Server can service a multi-camera production line with minimal restrictions on cable length. One machine and many cameras offers greater flexibility and control, not to mention significant cost savings.
Scorpion successfully marries the raw power available in industry-standard multi-core computers with the capability of dedicated high-quality off-the-shelf machine vision cameras. Individually, the component costs are inexpensive, but the sum of the parts is far greater.
Scorpion Vision Ltd, the UK distributor for PixeLINK cameras and Scorpion Vision software, sells a wide range of industrial cameras, including the company’s range of new Gigabit Ethernet models.
