Gefran’s new Impact series fluid-free pressure transmitters are designed for use in temperatures up to 350degC for applications such as melt pressure feedback on plastic extruders used in food and medical industries. With no mercury or oil filling, the RoHS-compliant range uses MEMS technology to produce a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) sensing element that allows the process contact membrane to be up to 15 times the thickness of traditional melt pressure sensors.
With a choice of six pressure ranges from 0-100 to 0-1000bar, accuracy to 0.25 per cent FSO and an auto-zero function, the highly robust Impact sensors offer high stability, high strength and a long working life.
The Impact series features a separate signal conditioning unit and a 15-5 PH stainless steel isolation diaphragm with a GTP coating for optimum resistance to corrosion, abrasion and temperature. A choice of both rigid and flexible stem lengths ensures straightforward installation.
