To provide a direct interface from all ESAB cutting and marking processes, and provide real-time monitoring, control and reporting, ESAB Cutting Systems is releasing PDM (Production Data Management) software. This will help users to achieve lower operational costs and reduced cycle times while giving total transparency to all cutting and marking activities.
Designed as a modular package, the basic PDM software embraces a number of tools covering various functions, as well as the fully automated recording of all machine and process data for ESAB cutting machines - which enables their performance to be analysed. The PDM Database module provides data storage for planned production tasks and also monitors reported data. A Workshop View module provides automatically updated visualisation of all machines and workstations connected to the PDM system. The Maintenance Module records machine wear and use of consumables, as well as documentation of maintenance activities.
All the modules combine to provide users with real-time visualisation of the performance of the cutting processes and the facility to take immediate action to correct or adjust machine operations or planned production schedules.
ESAB says that customers investing in the PDM software will benefit from higher productivity and greater cost-effectiveness. Full details are available from ESAB Cutting Systems.
