Piezoelectric force sensors cope with production environments

Kistler Instruments Ltdvisit website

A range of five force sensors from Kistler Instruments has been developed specifically for use in production environments, particularly for quality assurance monitoring in assembly applications. The piezoelectric sensors cover measuring ranges from 5-120kN and are supplied as standard with 1 per cent, 10 per cent and 100 per cent measuring range calibrations. In most applications, the sensors may be fitted directly into presses, punches and rams but, where this is not possible, various flanges and adapters are available. Where high-precision coaxial installation is required, such as in presses, a double-sided, centring seat is available.

Three of the sensors have a longitudinal, central bore for use with ejector tools and the standard accessories kit includes a steel screw-on cap to protect the radial cable outlet, mounting adapters and threaded bushes. Traceable calibration and additional measuring range calibration are available as options.

The compact size, simple installation, wide measuring range, overload tolerance and value for money, combined with a long, virtually maintenance-free working life, make the sensors suitable for use in a wide variety of manufacturing applications.
