ITT Interconnect Solutions is launching a light, cost-effective five-pin connector that is rugged enough to handle the abuse of set-up and tear-down of portable power systems and power distribution boxes as typically used in large halls hosting trade shows or conventions.
The company has redesigned the VEAM GRH Series five-pole, 100A connector for portable power systems, adding improved rubber-covered coupling nuts for better grip and durability. By using composite backshells, the connector offers significant weight savings and a streamlined profile while maintaining high durability and performance.
Although competitive connectors for bringing power from portable generators to such halls are effective, they tend to be costly and bulky. The redesigned VEAM GRH is a cost-effective, lightweight connector with the robustness and performance required of connectors operating in hostile environments. The use of safe finger-protected set screw-termination style contacts ensures operator safety and enables easy wire installation and field repair.
Other features include high resistance to shock and vibration, a quarter-turn coupling, UL recognition, 100A continuous rating, machined aluminium shells with a black hard anodised finish, and excellent electrical and mechanical performance.
