Movie shows the world's largest energy chain in motion

igus (UK) Ltdvisit website

Movie shows the world's largest energy chain in motionigus claims that the E4.350 energy chain is currently the largest plastic energy chain in the world. It is predominately used for large, heavy, stiff cables such as those used on oil platforms, at steelworks and for heavy engineering. The E4.350 does not require any form of lubrication, it is modular and therefore easy to assemble; it is also highly wear-resistant, even in areas where oil or sea water are encountered.

Follow the link to see a movie of an igus E4.350 energy chain undergoing tests prior to installation; the movie shows the chain being moved over a 120m run at speeds of up to 4m/s. This run also has gliding and rolling areas for smooth motion.
