High-accuracy tilt sensors operate from 4-20mA two-wire loopETLG Inertial Aerosystems is introducing a range of compact, high-accuracy tilt sensors that operate from a 4-20mA two-wire loop. Manufactured by US-based Applied Geomechanics, these gravity-referenced sensors measure tilt in two orthogonal axes with a resolution of 0.01 degree. Full-scale ranges of +/-25 and +/-50 degrees are available. An optional temperature output is also offered.

Measuring just 103 x 20 x 20mm, the sensing element can be mounted vertically or horizontally to its motherboard. This allows mounting in narrow spaces such as inside tubes and instrumentation cabinets. Further versions are available with an IP65 enclosure.

Primarily designed to interface to process and electronic control equipment, the compact, high-accuracy tilt sensors can be used in applications such as levelling of fluid containers, mechanical lifting equipment, machine tool alignment and structural monitoring.
