8 Mpixel camera with high frame rate and fast data transferStemmer Imaging is now supplying the AVT Prosilica GX3300 camera that combines 8 Mpixel resolution with high-speed (240MB/s) data transfer and a frame rate of 17 fps at full resolution; this means that it is no longer necessary to compromise resolution for speed. Supplied complete with a rich set of smart features, the GX3300 is suitable for a range of machine vision applications.

The GX3300 features the new quad-tap Kodak KAI-08050 CCD progressive scan sensor that is said to provide exceptional image quality, high sensitivity and dynamic range, improved anti-blooming and reduced smear. Dividing the sensor into a four-quadrant parallel readout enables this camera to support an impressive 17 fps at 8 MP. The GX3300 is equipped with an F-mount to make full use of the 4/3inch optical format and is compatible with a wide range of high-quality commercial and industrial lenses. The GX3300 is the latest camera in the Prosilica range to feature Link Aggregate Groups (LAG), or IEEE 802.3ad, a well-established computer networking technology. This links two Ethernet ports to provide data transfer of 240MB/s, which is double that achieved using a conventional GigE Vision configuration.

A compact, ribbed camera housing is designed to aid heat dissipation. With its rugged enclosure and optimised thermal management, the GX3300 delivers high-quality images even in tough environments with temperatures up to 50degC. For colour applications, Stemmer Imaging can supply the AVT similar GX3300C.
