Rugged triaxial accelerometer suits rotating equipmentVariohm EuroSensor is introducing the Meggitt Wilcoxon Research 993B-7-M12 triaxial accelerometer, featuring improved in-band signal fidelity and a 50 per cent increase in dynamic range over previously available models. The new 993B-7-M12 has a rugged, hermetically-sealed design that is well suited to general-purpose preventative maintenance use on motors, pumps compressors and other critical rotating equipment. A robust M12 connector and easily replaced cable assemblies make the accelerometer equally suitable for permanent-mount or field-portable, handheld use.

The 993B-7-M12 offers simultaneous three-axis monitoring with 100mV/g sensitivity over a 60g peak acceleration range, with frequency response to 10kHz in Z and to 7kHz in X and Y. The low-noise accelerometer design includes built-in IEPE amplifiers to minimise out-of-band signal influence and includes EMI/RFI shielded electronics as well as reverse wiring protection.

993B-M12 sensors benefit from a hermetically sealed 316L stainless steel case with captive screw mounting that allows full 360 degrees rotation for cable exit at any angle. The M12 connector permits a wide choice of connector options including BNC, Turck, 11-pin Fischer and four-pin Bendix – and others on request.
