CASM electric cylinders cut energy costs by up to 90 per centSKF is launching a range of CASM electric cylinders for a wide variety of applications. Coupled with a motor to form an electromechanical device, the speed and strength of linear movement provided by CASM electric cylinders can significantly outstrip the efficiency of pneumatic cylinders to realise energy savings of up to 90 per cent.

Along with the potential energy savings, the modular construction of CASM electric cylinders offers a versatility that reduces design and programming costs, with availability in different sizes and stroke lengths to fit a wide range of applications. The efficiency of CASM electric cylinders is enhanced by the use of high-grade materials and a sealing system protected to IP54S, so they maintain strong performance even under aggressive conditions, and the low-backlash design of the unit enables positioning precision of up to +/-0.01mm to be achieved.

CASM electric cylinders are compatible with many motors and can be supplied as a complete linear system mounted with a motor, or integrated with existing equipment using an adapter to suit the motor type.

The versatility, robustness, accuracy and efficiency of CASM electric cylinders all add up to a cost-effective means of providing high-speed, heavy lifting or precision motion in many applications, while producing less contamination and noise than pneumatic cylinders. There are easy options for integration and fast assembly, and CASM electric cylinders are backed by worldwide SKF service and support.
