ETLG Inertial Aerosystems is introducing the high-performance Silicon Designs model 1521 MEMS accelerometer, which comes on an 8mm square, 20-pin, surface-mount package.
Manufactured by USA-based Silicon Designs Inc, the model 1521 is described as a drop-in replacement for the established 1210 and 1221 models, yet it delivers at least double the performance in terms of stability and repeatability.
The unit is very heat-resistant and can be operated with limited exposure to 175degC at full specification. It is free from magnetic interference and contains no lead.
Available in ranges from 2'g' to 200 'g' FS, this rugged sensor can survive at least 2000 'g' shock, unpowered.
The 1521 is suitable for applications such as downhole tools, unmanned vehicle inertial navigation, tilt and position, and seismic equipment. This sensor is not an ITAR controlled product.
