Analog Devices AD9652 16-bit ADC evaluation board with 310MSPSMouser Electronics is the first to stock the AD9652-310EBZ Dual 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) Evaluation Board from Analog Devices. The AD9652 ADC captures data at 310MSPS, has a high-speed pipelined architecture, and boasts the best noise and dynamic range performance in its class.

The new Analog Devices AD9652-310EBZ Dual ADC Evaluation Board, available from Mouser Electronics is required to begin designing with the AD9652 ADC, which targets demanding high-speed signal sampling applications requiring exceptional dynamic range over a wide frequency range. The AD9652 can sample signals as fast as 465MHz. Analogue signals are first fed to a dual, buffered front-end sample-and-hold circuit. The signal then goes into a pipelined switched-capacitor ADC. This architecture combines the accuracy of a pipelined converter, with the stability and performance of a buffered sample-and-hold.

The AD9652 has digital processing blocks to continuously track and correct any internal errors that occur at any pipeline stage, ensuring continuous performance over various operating conditions. An on-chip buffer and amplifier simplifies board design by reducing external components. On-chip dithering improves the accuracy of the AD9652 ADC by reducing signal distortion that can happen due to input signal amplification. An SPI interface allows configuration of many of the ADC options including power down modes, input buffer termination impedance, selecting the internal or external voltage references, and enabling the internal temperature sensor.

The AD9652-310EBZ Evaluation Board interfaces to an HSC-ADC-EVALCZ High Speed Data Capture Board, also available from Mouser Electronics. Target applications for the AD9652 include communications systems and testers, instrumentation, radar receivers, secure communications systems, smart antennas, and high-speed data acquisition systems.
