Lambda is introducing the KM series of medically approved 15-40W enclosed PCB-mount power supplies with single, dual or triple outputs. Eliminating the need for external power adaptors, these small, lightweight power supplies are suitable for use in a wide variety of medical equipment, in particular portable applications such as electronic blood pressure monitors and home infusion therapy equipment.
Available in two package sizes - 64.0 x 45.5 x 23.4mm (15W models) and 88.9 x 63.5 x 26.9mm (40W models) - the KM series covers all commonly used output voltages. The single-output models are available from 3.3-24V with typical efficiency up to 83 per cent. For the dual-output units, ranges include +/-5V, +/-12V and +/-15V as well as 5V/12V versions. Typical efficiency for these models is up to 83 per cent. The triple-output models cover various outputs, including 5V/+/-12V with efficiencies to 80 per cent.
All configurations accept a broad range of input voltages: 90-264V AC, 47-440Hz or 100-375V DC. No ground connection is required, as the KM series is a Class II device. The models are rated for operation in a convection cooled environment from -25 to 70degC, derating linearly to 50 per cent load from 50-70degC. Other features include over-current and over-voltage, as well as over-temperature protection.
Lambda's KM series power supplies have 4kV AC input to output isolation, and meet EN 60601-1-2 immunity and Class B (15W) and Class A (40W) EMI standards. Leakage current at 230V AC is less than 200uA. They are also safety approved to IEC/UL 60601-1 specifications and are CE marked. Depending on model, Lambda gives the KM series an MTBF of between 200,000 and 400,000 hours. All models carry a two-year warranty.
