Real-virtual igus exhibition invites visitors to step up to high-performance polymers
The ‘igus Motion Plastics Show 2021’ has opened its digital doors and is offering more new products, product enhancements and digital offerings than ever before, says the company. Some 168 innovations from all areas are now available – from telescopic robot hose packages to dry-running ball bearings with 21x service life.
Since the beginning of May 2020, thousands of visitors have visited the new exhibition, which has recently been awarded the iF Design Award.
Now, the igus Motion Plastics Show (or IMPS, as it is commonly referred to) has been overhauled for 2021. "For another year, we are again without trade shows,” says igus managing director Matthew Aldridge.
Stand optimised
The new stand has been optimised, based on experience gained from virtual customer discussions and tours in the last 12 months. In a separate area of the stand, solutions for various industries can be seen: the space-saving and telescopic triflex TRX system for 3D power guidance on a robot, as well as the high-load bearing iglidur TX2 for construction machinery.
Also, the hot topic of sustainability of plastics is now even more visible and occupies a central place at the stand.
A total of 168 product innovations from all igus areas are on show at the 400 sq m exhibition stand. The lightweight drygear cobot gearbox kit for cost-effective automation can be found there, as well as the tribo-filament iglidur I151 for FDA-compliant and detectable wear parts in food technology.
Over 55,000 people from all over the world have now visited the stand online. A further 16,000 visitors have also received a digital visit, together with igus specialists.
Important building block
"Normally, we would have been represented at 222 exhibitions worldwide last year; however, in total, there were only twenty-six", says Frank Blase, igus CEO. "That's why we are so pleased that IMPS has become an integral part of daily communication with our customers. The real-virtual stand is an important building block within the digital igus concept, which allows users to get to the lubrication-free and maintenance-free motion plastic parts even faster.
“We also have online seminars from a new studio, which provides additional assistance, if required. The websi te hosts the digital catalogues and provides additional information, such as access to white papers, blog articles and explanatory videos.”
