2010 Plant & Works Exhibition (PWE) show preview

Exhibitors at the 2010 Plant & Works Exhibition (NEC, Birmingham, 8-10 June 2010) will be a mix of suppliers of plant and maintenance equipment and related products and services. Condition monitoring will be a core area for the show, with many exhibitors using the event as a launchpad for their latest developments. SPM Instrument, for example, will be showcasing the next generation of its well-known shock pulse method to co-inside with its 40th Anniversary. SPM HD is an advanced and patent-pending measuring technique suitable for all types of applications and is particularly well suited for use with low-speed machinery. Other condition monitoring companies include Pruftechnik and Holroyd Instruments.

Handling and storage exhibitors are also present in force at this year's show, with Combilift, the highly successful Irish forklift manufacturer, making its show debut alongside materials handling company Jungheinrich.

Combilift will be highlighting how its four-way forklifts can improve handling and storage procedures, save space and improve productivity. Combilifts have capacities from 2.5-14 tonnes with diesel, LPG or electric power options.

Visitors to the Jungheinrich stand will able to see the company's latest range of ultra-high-performance counterbalance forklift trucks. The new 3-Series is powered by a Volkswagen engine and features the same hydrostatic drive technology as Jungheinrich's top-selling 4-Series counterbalanced truck collection. The 3-Series is claimed to offer class-leading fuel efficiency, productivity, safety and reliability at a price the manufacturer says ensures lifetime costs are remarkably low.

MasterMover, the manufacturer of pedestrian electric tugs, will be demonstrating why it is widely recognised as a market leader in providing tugs for moving wheeled loads from 50kg to 100,000kg.

Other highlights include Henkel, the company that provides engineering adhesives, sealants, equipment and coatings for industrial production and maintenance applications. It will be demonstrating a variety of products, featuring the Loctite brand, that are found in markets as diverse as machine building, automotive, electronics, aerospace and medical devices, as well as many fields of general industry. The adhesive technologies include threadlocking, retaining, thread sealing and gasketing, as well as general bonding.

Simplisys will be showcasing its eMaint X3. Available in On-Demand or Enterprise deployment options, it is both an easy work order management tool as well as a full-featured system that can help users to schedule and plan maintenance, track work orders and work requests, manage assets, control inventory, reduce equipment downtime and reduce maintenance costs.

Trakm8 will be highlighting the importance of security in the industrial workplace. The company designs and manufactures technology that can help secure valuable plant equipment and vehicles. In addition to this, the company's systems can tell you where your machinery/vehicle is, who is driving it and if it is on the move.

Torqueleader will also be exhibiting at the Plant & Works Exhibition. The company manufactures torque wrenches, torque screwdrivers, torque tool accessories and torque calibration equipment used in a wide range of industrial applications where joint integrity is critical - including the automotive, aerospace, electronics, computer assembly, white goods, defence and telecoms industries.
