2011 machinery safety seminars from the PPMA
The PPMA has announced the first dates and details for its 2011 machinery safety seminars. These are as follows:
The New Machinery Directive
Taking place on 20 January 2011 at the Marriott Hotel, Northampton, this one-day seminar provides an overview of the actual and proposed changes. Topics covered include:
- Partially complete machines
- Application to modified machinery
- Application to assemblies of machines
- Changes to essential health and safety requirements
- Changes to ISO and European standards linked to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
- New conformity assessment procedures
- Technical file compositions
- New Declarations of Conformity and Incorporation
Practical Machinery Safety - PUWER
Taking place on 3 March 2011 at the Marriott Hotel, Northampton, this one-day seminar provides an overview of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), with a detailed examination of certain elements. Topics covered include:
- Regulation 6: Inspection
- Regulation 10: Conformity with Community requirements
- Regulations 11-24 in detail (11: Dangerous parts, 12: Specified hazards, 13: High and low temperature, 14: Start controls, 15: Stop controls, 16: Emergency stops, 17: Controls, 18: Control systems, 19: Isolation, 20: Stability, 21: Lighting, 22: Maintenance, 23: Markings, 24: Warnings)
- Control integrity and functional safety
- User requirement specification
The cost for each seminar is 395 + VAT, with discounts available if bookings are made for two or more delegates. Special rates are available for PPMA members.
