24V/10A DIN-rail power supply: 95 per cent efficiency, 39mm wide

PULS is launching the Dimension CP10 24V/10A DIN-rail power supply, saying it sets a new industry benchmark in innovative power supply technology and sophisticated thermal design. According to PULS, this is the first time a DIN-rail power supply in this power class with a single-phase global input and active PFC has achieved an efficiency of 95 per cent. The subsequent low level of heat generation has enabled a design to be developed that reduces the width required on the DIN-rail to only 39mm.

John Tyrrell, Managing Director of PULS UK, comments: "The CP10 is a full-featured supply which delivers maximum performance from -25degC to +60degC without derating. Our innovative PULS HiccupPLUS power management delivers 20 per cent extra peak power when needed and at the same time protects loads and wiring. With an industry-leading performance in this power class, our customers get the benefit of high performance in a compact and robust package."

The Dimension CP10's active input inrush current limiter ensures no potentially damaging surges of inrush current and its DC-OK signal monitors the output voltage. A new remote on/off feature makes it simple and convenient to remotely switch the power supply off for energy conservation rather than the traditional panel-mounted power switch.

Weighing only 600g, these compact and rugged supplies are well suited to applications in hostile environments where they will be subject to shock and vibration such as found in vehicles and wind power installations. For the process industry the CP10 is approved according to ATEX/IECEx standards at no extra charge. 12V and 48V versions will follow soon to lay the foundation for a new family of products for multiple applications. Samples are available now from stock.
