Air-Tech 2010 exhibition - show preview

Air-Tech 2010, which DFA Media describes as the UK's number-one forum for compressed air and pneumatics businesses, takes place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 8-10 June 2010. It will cover the whole of the compressed air supply chain, from compressors to practical applications. The show will highlight technologies such as air treatment equipment and instrumentation, air dryers, condensing separators, heat exchangers and control systems. The show also has the endorsement of the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS).

Steve Riley, marketing executive at Beko, explains the rationale behind Beko's decision once again to exhibit: "Air-Tech will give us an opportunity to further our message that Beko has moved on from just being a company that supplies condensate drains and oil-water separators to a company that is a complete system solutions provider.

"We will be focusing a big effort for the foreseeable future on our new products; such as Bekokat, a catalytic converter for the removal of hydrocarbons, and Everdry - from our new company Beko Systems - that provides custom-built dryers for high-spec applications. Beko will also be concentrating on our other strength, measurement systems, which industries increasingly need to monitor the quality of their compressed air."

Visitors to the show will also be able to view products from CompAir on two separate stands. The CompAir area will display a broad range of compressor models and ancillaries, including the company's latest range of variable-speed units ranging from 11kW to 250kW. A second stand will be dedicated to the company's Hydrovane brand, offering a range of rotary vane compressors with high versatility and low noise levels.

CompAir UK's managing director, Colin Mander, comments: "We are committed to providing high-performance, cost-efficient compressed air systems for industry through the CompAir, Hydrovane and Gardner Denver brands, both in the UK and across the globe. Despite the tough economic climate, we are continuing to develop new and innovative technologies to help improve productivity and cost of ownership, and Air-Tech provides the ideal platform to showcase these solutions for customers." CompAir is also Air-Tech 2010's official seminar sponsor.

Another new addition to Air-Tech's exhibitor list is Hertz Kompressoren UK, a Turkish-based company that established operations in the UK in June 2009. Graeme Middleton-Duff, managing director of Hertz Kompressoren UK, states: "We already have a strong distributor base here, but are also seeking additional distribution partners in addition to further establishing brand recognition in the UK marketplace.

"We are also seeking to secure even stronger awareness for our existing and new products, including our popular inverter drive systems, as well as our standard compressors. With these criteria in mind, our UK staff and our parent company Dalgakiran Kompresor saw exhibiting at Air-Tech as a key opportunity to achieve these goals, while also providing us with valuable networking opportunities within the compressed air industry in general. We received a good response when exhibiting in Hannover earlier in 2009, and look forward to securing similar successes at the UK's leading compressed air event, Air-Tech."

Air-Tech regulars include Mattei Compressors, which will be showcasing its range of rotary vane compressors - said to be the largest selection in the industry. Members of its team will be on hand to discuss these technologies, including the Maxima, which has a high mechanical efficiency, using as little as 5.4kW of electricity to produce a cubic metre of compressed air per minute.

TESEO UK will be exhibiting its new generation of modular aluminium pipework systems for compressed air, breathing air, vacuum, nitrogen, argon, inert gases, oils, water and other fluids with pressures up to 25bar.

Other exhibitor highlights include: Michell Instruments, Jacob, Filterworld, Factair and Bambi Air Compressors - which will be using Air-Tech to launch its new range of silent oil-free compressors.

As before, Air-Tech is one of several co-located exhibitions organised by DFA Media. Follow the links to read the show previews for the Plant & Works Exhibition (PWE), IFPEX (the International Fluid Power Exhibition) and the Drives & Controls exhibition. Also taking place at the NEC at the same time are MACH 2010, Subcon and Electrex.

In addition to the exhibition, the organisers have also assembled an excellent FREE seminar programme. For more information about the speakers and topics, see this article: Free seminars at Drives & Controls 2010 and co-located shows.
