All-around IP65 waterproof stationary panel computer
Advantech is introducing their newest Panel PC, the SPC-1840WP. As a result of its focus on a continuous product development, this newest addition to the Panel PC family is created to support the industry development. In particular, it aims at meeting modern demands on HMI (Human Machine Interface) products within the scope of the Industry 4.0 technology.
The SPC-1840WP is a 18.5" widescreen multi-touch stationary panel PC and has an all-encompassing waterproof design, which was specifically developed to provide easier operation and high productivity in areas that require frequent jet washing.
In 2013, the SPC-1840WP was recognised with the prestigious iF product design award. The PC was not only praised for its modernity, but also for its intuitive usability. One of the user-friendly features are two pale blue soft-keys that, when lightly touched, give users quick and easy access to the necessary information. The SPC-1840 provides an easy and quick overview, resulting in excellent control of information. The opportunity for VESA mounting is an additional advantage in usability.
Modernity is emphasised in the slender, elegant aluminium housing, which offers all-around IP65 protection, demonstrating mechanical stability and reliability. The use of M12 connectors allows the device to withstand high water pressure and offers a high level of waterproofing in humid environments. The SPC is suitable for applications such as food & beverage and chemical manufacturing, where frequent cleaning is a necessity. The PC and its connectors are protected against dust and water to withstand the rigours of jet washing and scrubbing, whilst hanging on either pedestals or pendants.
Information is even better visible due to the widescreen with a ratio of 16:9, providing 40 per cent more screen area than 4:3 displays. Furthermore, due to the addition of multi-touch capabilities, the panels provide even better control and viewing of SCADA information.
The SPC-1840WP's performance is made possible by the application of an AMD 1.65GHz processor with an independent graphical processing unit, which supports Windows 8 and DirectX11 so it can handle more complicated and detailed graphics.
